Life Readiness
In Life Readiness, students develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed both in school and beyond. Through two key programs—Second Step and Xello—students build social-emotional, academic, and career readiness skills that help them grow into confident, capable, and compassionate individuals.
Second Step is a research-based social-emotional learning program that helps students strengthen essential life skills such as managing emotions, building positive relationships, setting goals, and making responsible decisions. Lessons and discussions are designed to support students’ self-awareness, confidence, and ability to navigate challenges during middle school and beyond.
Xello is an interactive, online program that guides students in exploring their interests, strengths, and future possibilities. Through engaging activities and self-assessments, students learn about different career paths, post-secondary options, and the connections between what they’re learning in school and real-world opportunities. Each student builds a personal portfolio that grows with them throughout their school years.
Together, these programs empower students to understand themselves, build positive habits, and begin planning for their futures—academically, personally, and socially.
